Who we are

Uniac, Inc. (“Uniac”, “we”) operates the website at uniac.ai, the Uniac dashboard, the Uniac command-line tool and the platform API at api.uniac.ai (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, where it is stored and who we share it with. Questions about it go to [email protected].

What this policy covers

This policy covers visitors to uniac.ai and people who hold a Uniac account. The services you deploy on Uniac may handle data that belongs to your own users. We store and run that data on your instructions in order to provide the Service, and for no purpose of our own. You are responsible for telling your users how their data is handled and for having the right to place it on Uniac.

Information we collect

Account details. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our sign-in provider. When you sign in, Clerk gives us a user id and the profile details you or your sign-in method provide, such as your email address and name.

Payment details. Card details are entered in a form served by Stripe, our payment processor, and go directly to Stripe; Uniac never receives your full card number. We keep the Stripe customer id, the brand and last four digits of each saved card, and the record of every charge (subscription fees, credit purchases and payments of amounts owed) with its amount and payment status.

What you deploy. Running your services requires us to store what you give the platform: project and service names, the container images you deploy, deployment configuration including environment variables (which the platform supplies to your services and returns to you through the API), the contents of the volumes you create, the logs, events and metrics your services produce, and the metering records for CPU, memory, storage and network egress that usage billing is calculated from.

Requests to the Service. Like any web service, the website, the dashboard and the API receive the IP address, browser or client identification and requested address of every request. These requests pass through Cloudflare, which delivers the website and sits in front of the API. The website and the dashboard load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser also requests font files from Google.

Analytics. The website uses Google Analytics to measure how it is used: page views and interactions such as copying the setup prompt or following an outbound link. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell returning browsers apart and reports these events to Google.

Support. Anything you send to [email protected].

Cookies

The dashboard uses session cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. Our edge worker reads that session cookie to decide whether to show you the public site or the dashboard. Google Analytics sets the cookies described above on the website. The Service sets no advertising cookies.

How we use information

• To operate the Service: run your services, keep you signed in, and show you your projects, logs, metrics and usage.
• To bill you: meter usage, grant and draw down credit, charge subscription fees and credit purchases, and collect amounts owed.
• To support you when you contact us.
• To keep the Service secure and to detect abuse or violations of the Terms of Service.
• To understand how the website is used, through the analytics described above.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share information with

Service providers that process information for us, each for the purpose named:

• Clerk — sign-in and session management.
• Stripe — card storage and payment processing.
• Google Cloud — the infrastructure your services run on and our data is stored on.
• Cloudflare — delivery of the website, DNS, and the network edge in front of the API.
• Google Analytics — website usage measurement.
• Google Fonts — the font files the website and dashboard load.

We also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Uniac, its customers or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of Uniac's assets.

Where information is stored

The Service runs on Google Cloud in the us-central1 region, in the United States. Uniac does not offer a choice of region. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

How long we keep information

While your account is in good standing, we keep your account, billing records and everything you have deployed.

• Compute hold. When your account has no credit to draw on, your services stop running. Your projects, configuration and volumes are kept, and no deletion clock starts.
• Suspension. If a charge for an amount you owe fails and the amount remains unpaid, your account is suspended. If the suspension lasts 30 continuous days, the account's projects are removed: services are torn down and volumes are destroyed. Paying what is owed before then ends the suspension.
• Deletion you request. Deleting a project destroys every volume in it. Deleting a service keeps its volume, detached, until you delete the volume itself, which is immediate and permanent.
• Billing and usage records are kept as accounting records after the resources they describe are gone.
• Closing your account. Email [email protected]. There is no self-service account deletion yet.

Security

The website, the dashboard and the API are reached over HTTPS. Sign-in credentials are handled by Clerk and card numbers by Stripe, so Uniac's own systems hold neither. No service can promise perfect security. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as applicable law requires.

Your choices and rights

In the dashboard you can see and change your saved cards, subscription, credit and auto-reload settings, and see your projects, deployments, volumes and usage. For anything else, including a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your account, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and you can exercise them through the same address.

Children

The Service is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
